# Succes Story: CFO

## IT service company strengthened financial management with an interim CFO

Background  
A Finnish IT service company needed a temporary finance director for its subsidiary to secure the continuity of financial operations and leadership during a transition period.

Need  
The organization identified an immediate need for an experienced CFO-level professional who could take full responsibility for the finance function without a lengthy recruitment process.

Solution  
The selected interim CFO, Siru Ormo, worked full-time in the role for 15 months. She is an experienced finance leader with a background in CFO consulting roles and extensive experience in senior financial management positions as well as developing different types of organizations.

She was comprehensively responsible for the subsidiary’s financial administration, including:

\- Operational and supervisory responsibility for the finance team

\- Cooperation with the external accounting/finance partner

\- Ensuring the quality and timeliness of monthly and annual reporting and forecasts

\- Leading the finance workstream in a corporate transaction project

Her experience typically also includes developing financial processes, reporting and forecasting, as well as managing corporate transaction-related activities that require strong business understanding and the ability to operate in rapidly changing situations.

Results  
The interim CFO ensured uninterrupted continuity of financial operations and quickly brought clarity to leadership. She took charge of the role very rapidly and provided significant support to the organization at a critical stage.

Customer feedback  
“The interim leader took full responsibility for the finance function and ensured the quality and timeliness of reporting and forecasts. She also led the finance component of the corporate transaction project. Cooperation was smooth and effective from the very beginning.”

The key benefit was rapid access to experienced expertise without a heavy recruitment process.

When would we use this again?  
A similar model will be utilized in the future in situations where there is a need to quickly bring in an experienced professional to cover a temporary resource or competence gap.
